The Freedom Riders presented Hospice of the Hills with checks totaling $404. The funds were raised from a chili dinner held recently at Neighborhood Diner. At the time of the chili dinner, they had no way of knowing that Hospice of the Hills patient, Brother David "Bubba" Simpson, would lose his battle to cancer just a week later.  The Hospice of the Hills Board voted to help the Simpson family defray burial expenses.  The Freedom Riders will hold another chili dinner in February with proceeds going to Hospice of the Hills once again.

The Freedom Riders came well represented to the check presentation in honor of their Brother who passed away January 21st, 2013.
